Scoop and I were friends from our Wildwood days.  He had a passion for playing his drums and I'd been taking guitar lessons for quite awhile.  In 1964 or 1965 the Beach Boys and Beatles made the scene and playing in a band seemed the thing to do.  Inspired by our local Piedmont band,  "The Workmen" with Paul Conover, Clay Cotton, and Steve Hetteman, I got together with Ric Replogle, Scoop... and later with Mike Chovanes and formed "The Beach Nuts".  In hindsight, we likely weren't very good, but apparently good enough for a few "battle of the bands" and hiring out to play at parties nearly every weekend.  So sorry that Scoop left us so young.  He was a good guy, a good friend, and a real gentleman.

When I saw Scoop's black n' white picture on the slide show at the 50th reunion I remembered his singing and acting in our High School Musical "Guy's and Doll's"

Didn't he have something to do with getting 911 up and running?
